18. Jason Bonsignore, 1994 – 4th Overall, Edmonton Oilers
Known as an immature natural talent, after being drafted in the first round, Bonsignore only played 79 NHL games, scoring 16 points, before being booted out of the league in 2003. He played for several minor leagues before retiring in 2008. Currently, the 39-year-old Rochester, NY native is the head coach of the Rochester Red Wings Squirt AA travel hockey team.
17. Steve Kelly, 1995 – 6th Overall, Edmonton Oilers
Another busted first-round draftee from the 1990s, Kelly has played for five different NHL teams in his 13-year career: Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils, Los Angeles Kings, and Minnesota Wild. His comical NHL resume includes playing in only 149 regular-season games with a total of 21 scored points. Currently, the 39-year-old Canadian retiree is a police officer for the Calgary Police Service.
16. Daniel Tkaczuk, 1997 – 6th Overall, Calgary Flames
Selected in the first-round, Tkaczuk played for Flames for only 19 games, scoring 11 points, before leaving the NHL for good. He played professional hockey for several years afterwards in minor and international leagues before retiring in 2011. Currently, the 36-year-old Toronto native is president of an online hockey training and skill development school called iHockeyTrainer.com, and a frequent columnist for The Hockey News.
