Early Odds of Each Team Winning the 2016 Stanley Cup

6. Montreal Canadiens 12-1

The team with the best record in the NHL through 25 games only has the sixth best odds to win the Stanley Cup, which makes them a great value pick. The Montreal Canadiens just lost Carey Price for six weeks, but he should have plenty of time to get back to normal speed by the time the playoffs start. Backup goalie Michael Condon has proven he can keep the Canadiens near the top of the standings while Price is out, so they should still get to home ice advantage for the first round.

5. Minnesota Wild 12-1

The Minnesota Wild were one of the best teams in the NHL at the end of last season after pulling off a trade for Devan Dubnyk at the trade deadline. The momentum they gained last year has not translated to a great start this season. Devan Dubnyk was never going to keep up his pace at the end of last year, but these odds are still treating the Wild like they have the best goalie in the NHL.

4. Los Angeles Kings 12-1

Jonathan Quick may no longer be the best goalie in the NHL, but that is not stopping the Los Angeles Kings from playing great hockey. The solid defense in front of Quick has helped the Kings give up just over two goals a game. They may not have a top offense, but that is not needed when you have an amazing defense and a solid goaltender.
