Early Odds of Each Team Winning the 2016 Stanley Cup

27. Edmonton Oilers 150-1

Edmonton currently has the worst record in the NHL, so they are definitely not a smart bet to win the Stanley Cup this year. Better days are coming soon for the Oilers as their top young stars are starting to show some promise. The Oilers are slowly starting to move in the right direction after several horrible seasons, but it may take a few years before they have a realistic shot at making the playoffs.

26. Buffalo Sabres 150-1

The Sabres have been the worst team in the NHL the last two seasons, but they do not deserve to be this low on the list. Buffalo has finally added consistent defense and goal tending to go with their young offensive stars. We may get to see this young improving team in the playoffs next year, but they certainly are not title contenders this year.

25. Philadelphia Flyers 100-1

Winning the Stanley Cup requires scoring goals, and that is just something the Philadelphia Flyers are not good at right now. Through 24 games this season, they are the only team in the league that is averaging less than two goals a game. While they have the talent to get one of the last playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, they will have a hard time advancing past the first round.
